FISHING
OPPORTUNITIES

Fishing opportunities at Jones Island Club are many and varied depending on the time of the year.

Located on Pamlico Sound and surrounded by numerous river systems, the club enjoys almost unlimited scenic areas to fish. The club has a boat landing on-site for use by members. Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Puppy Drum are favorite target species during spring and summer. Tarpon move into Pamlico Sound and surrounding waters during late summer. September will find members fishing for large Drum, which school over oyster rocks and sandbars just off of the club property. Many of these Drum are in the forty pound range and are caught within a fifteen minute boat ride of the club lodges.

The club maintains a stocked Striped Bass pond which provides great fun for members, guests, children and grandchildren. This is a catch and release pond so the fish grow larger each year.

The freshwater impoundment canals hold Largemouth Bass and Bream, as well as many other species.
